Kristine is the co-founder of and chief executive officer at Planet Women, which addresses climate change and other conservation challenges through projects led by women and for women around the world. For the past 22 years, Kristine has been an environmental nonprofit leader focused on helping nature and people thrive.
Previously, Kristine served as Conservation International’s chief development officer and as director of philanthropy at The Nature Conservancy in California, raising funds for water, ocean and science programs. Kristine also served as director of development at Yosemite Conservancy and worked at the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the San Francisco Zoological Society.
Kristine is a third-generation Californian and grew up in rural Bishop, on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. She studied art history and French at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. She holds a private pilot license and flies a Cessna and a Piper. A published fiction author and creative writing teacher, Kristine is currently working on a short story collection set in the Southwest desert. She lives in Walnut Creek in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband, Joe, and served on the board of directors for the Mono Lake Committee.
