Shauna’s bio:
Shauna Sadowski is an industry-recognized leader in sustainability, currently serving as Vice President of Sustainability at Simple Mills. Previously, Shauna was the Head of Sustainability for the Natural & Organic Operating Unit at General Mills, which included the brands Annie’s, Epic, Cascadian Farm and Muir Glen. Prior to that, she served as the Vice President of Sustainability & Industry Relations at Annie’s, and in various sustainability roles at Fork in the Road Foods, Clif Bar, and BSR.
In her roles, Shauna creates and manages teams, systems, and programs that build brand credibility by integrating sustainability into the product design and supply chain, with an emphasis on farming and agricultural programs, and driving meaningful and measurable impact. Through a holistic approach, she seeks to deliver a deeper understanding of how agricultural and farming systems connect to the foods we eat, why that matters, and what a food business can do about it. Shauna is regularly invited to speak as a subject matter expert at industry conferences and her work has been cited in Fast Company, NPR The Salt, Civil Eats, GreenBiz, and Food Dive, among others. She has served as a Board Member at both the Sustainable Food Trade Association and The Climate Collaborative, and she has been recognized as a Verge Vanguard honoree for disrupting business as usual. Shauna has a MS in Agriculture, Food and Environment from the Friedman School of Tufts University and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in the SF Bay Area with her husband and two children.
